Hey guys! So this week's blog is going to be a free blog. I'm am going to be sharing this video with you, about 5 tips to take better photos on your iPhone. Now for some of you, this might not even matter because some of it is kinda obvious. But there's a few tips, where simple things like pressing a button, can make your photo look that much better. This might be helpful to older adults too, who maybe got a new iPhone. It shows some cool stuff you can do with your iPhone, to take better photos. After all, you spent quite a bit of money for it. Might as well try to get as much out of it as you can. Well I don't want to spoil it for you, watch it down below. Thanks for reading!
Hey guys! So, this week's blog topic is about what three thing did we learn throughout this class. Now this is partly why I like this class. You learn about a lot more things than just media. We do many different things in this class like fundraising, charity work, and talking to other people for Inside Scoops and news stories, just to name some. Here are my three.
First of all, I have really learned to talk to other people more. In the future I'm going to have to talk many adults and strangers. I feel that this class really helps with. Talking to businesses for fundraisers and talking to people to see if we could do a story on them all helps. It's a life lesson that I will forever hold on too.
Another lesson I've learned is how to be leader to get things done. Let me tell you, last year and this year in media was way different. I felt a lot of pressure this time around because I had to step up a be the leader this time. I have overcome many of those challenges in this class. And I"m happy to know how to be a leader and get things done for the rest of my life now.
Lastly, I have learned how to make new friends. This probably doesn't make much sense at first, but coming into this class I practically didn't know anybody but Mia very well. I knew Kai and Aron but we all weren't that close. Anyways, I didn't know much people, but this class brought us all together into one ohana. It has taught me that we all can be friends if we just embrace each other. Even the people that left last year, I still hold on to their friendships and talk to them every so often when I see them. This is probably one of the most important one. I did don't chose these people to be in my class, and in the future you can't chose who you work with. I have learned that becoming friends with them and embracing with them is the best possible option.
In conclusion, I have learned many lessons through out my two years in media, but these were probably my top three. They are all very important to me, that we will take with me throughout my whole life. Thanks for reading!
Hey guys! So this week's blog topic is about what video we are going to show at family night and why. If you didn't know, at the end of every school year. Our media group holds a family night to end the year. We have dinner and then we show a video that we worked on that year. I want to share my PSA for these three reasons.
First of all, I want to show my PSA because it was the best grade I've gotten for a video I did, by myself. This video was something I worked hard on by myself which I'm proud of. It made me feel really good when I finished it and later on saw the grade I got for it.
Second of all, I worked really, really hard on getting this PSA right. It took me a couple of story changes to get the final script. In total, I had 4 scripts, but they were all different in a way with the story. This video started out with a pretty different story than what it is now. But with some help from Mr.M, I finally got the 4th script approved and I was able to start filming.
Lastly, I want to show this PSA because I was really happy with the topic I chose. For me, personally, I hate it when people leave lights on for unnecessary reasons. My little sister always leaves the bathroom lights on and I always have to yell at her to turn it off. This video is a good example of how you can help remind your friends and family to simply turn off the lights when they're not needed.
In conclusion, for family night I want to share my family night video because I worked hard on it by myself, it took me a while to get it right, and it's a good example of how to remind others to turn off lights they're not using. Thanks for reading!
Hey guys! So, this week we didn't get a chosen blog topic. So we are going to do a free one this week. I decided to do it on a movie and I picked Trolls. Now, I know what you are thinking, Trolls? Well I'm not really a movie person, movies scare me and make me sad because there's always a plot in it. Now, Trolls is animated and animated movies are probably my favorite. Basically because it means no humans will die. Trolls is really a good movie. The characters' facial expressions are good and the voices really match the character. I also really like the whole movie's story and plot. I don't really want to explain anything because it might spoil it for you. I really think you should check it out!
Hey guys! So for this week's blog, I'm going to talk about the process I've made for our Kauai Grown project. I'm in the digital graphics with Erik. Our job is basically to create posters and advertisements for Kauai Grown. Here are three things that we have done so far.
So first of all, we created a lot of poster designs for Kauai Grown's 22nd Annual Garden fair, but we didn't ended using it. This is because we pretty much had no photos to use because it was their first event and we didn't have all the information. The lady that provides us with it kept saying she would give it to us, but we never received it. Then we went on our STN trip, and we were too late already. This kind of stuff we can't control, but this was a major obstacle.
Secondly, we have started to start organizing ourselves in this new website we use called basecamp. We can do all sorts of things like create to-do lists, schedules, link documents, ect. So, we have everything we needed to do on there. Also, we started looking through the pictures to see which ones we are going to use for different things.
Lastly, we have just started created promos for our social media accounts. We are on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook, if you want to check us out on there. Anyways, Erik and I split it up and are doing two each. I just finished with my Snapchat promo and I think Erik just finished with his Instagram one as well. We are in the process of finishing the other two now.
In conclusion, I feel we are doing pretty good and are on track. We have already organized our information and work and are almost done with our promos. Well, that;s pretty much it for this week's blog. Thanks for reading!
Hey guys! So I'm back to weekly blogs now. STN was really fun, but I'm really happy to be home and on a regular schedule. Anyways this weeks topic is actually about STN again. What three momentous learning experiences were our favorite. We did a lot on this trip, so it was hard to condense it to only three, but here are my top overall three!
So, first of all, one of my favorite learning experiences we had was going to the Disney animation studios actual building! It was one of those places that you had to know somebody in order to go in and it was such an amazing experience. I really have a good idea of what a job of an animator is now. Also we got to see the voice of Olaf as well!!! That was so cool, it was probably the closest I've ever gotten next to a celebrity!
Also, my second top favorite learning experience was the actual STN competition. It really was my test to see my improvement throughout the two years of media I've gone through. And also seeing the improvement Amber and Shayne has made through what I taught them during practices. Although it was the most stressful thing ever, it all was worth it when we got honorable mention! I was so happy we placed!
My third top favorite learning experience I had was when we went to the Angels stadium and had a tour. Now I consider this a learning experience because I knew basically nothing, what so ever about baseball. Now I actually kind of get the game, and I also learned things about the stadium as well. While we were there we also got to walk on the dirt part of the field! It was still a cool experience even though I'm not really a baseball fan.
In conclusion, the Disney animation studio tour, the STN competition, and touring he Angels stadium has to be my favorite top three learning moments I had. This trip was so fun and eventful. We did so much, it was hard to choose! Well, thanks for reading!
Hey guys! So today is Day 10 of STN and sadly the day. :( But on the bright side, it was Disneyland day! There's just something about going to theme parks with your friends that make the experience just 10 times more exciting! Anyways, we woke up pretty early ate breakfast and headed straight to Disneyland. We got to go on a few rides before we went on our Disney animation tour. This tour was more of how animation started and what are the elements to create an animated movie. It was actually pretty fun, it wasn't like we sit in a room and listen to a presenter which was what I thought it was going to be. When it was done we ride some other rides and ate lunch. It was also pretty cool because we had fast passes for the space mountain and splash mountain rides, which are like a 2 hour waits. Once we got back to the hotel it was final packing time and go to sleep ASAP because we had to wake up really early for the airport. Well that concludes the trip the next is just flying back to Kauai. It's pretty sad that it's over already, but I'm also very ready to go back home. Thanks for reading!
Hey guys! So today was Day 9 of STN! Why means it's closing ceremony! So we woke up and got in line to enter the ballroom. It was very exciting, because all the excitement was building in you. Once we got inside we sat in the front and just waited til everyone was seated to start. Once it started, all the nervousness inside me started to come out. And it just so happened that my category was last, so everybody was getting their awards and I'm just there like, "omg please get an award, please." 😂 I was so nervous, but it was finally our category and we got honorable mention. Which is still good, and I'm very proud of it! After the closing ceremonies was finished we got ready to head over to Disneyland! It was so much fun, even though we didn't ride a lot of rides because it was pretty late in the day. My feet were so sore though, the pain was real, so real 😂! Anyways, once we got to the hotel we got ready for bed and slept. Stay tuned for tomorrow's blog!
Hey guys! So today was Day 8 of STN! Today I didn't have a competition, so that meant I had to go to breakout sessions. I ended up only going to one because the PSA team needed actors. So, literally right when I went to go eat breakfast, I grabbed an orange and walked down with them. After I was done helping them, Adelina and Megan (our pen pals) needed help with their silent film. So Carter, Mia, and I went up to their room and helped them with that. Then after we finished with that, Alec and Bethany needed help with their movie trailer. So, we then walked over to help them. After we finished helping them, we headed over to a breakout session. It was about fake news and how it affects a reporter's job kind of. It interesting at times and not at others. Once the breakout session ended we headed down to the lobby for our lunch break. Then we had to go to one more breakout session. In this one, we watched news stories and listens to the presenter pretty much critique it. All the corrections we have heard of though, so most of it was review. After that was done, we headed to our rooms to go to the Angels baseball game. It was actually pretty fun, even bought I basically didn't even watch the game. It was hard to pay attention because the game went so slow. (Can you tell I'm not a huge baseball fan 😂) We ate dinner there as well. Once the game was finished we went back to the hotel and got ready for bed. That's it for today's blog!
Hey guys! So today was day 7 of STN! We woke up and of course ate breakfast. Then we went to a breakout session. If we are not competing in a competition, we are in a breakout session. So, I was in one of those with some other people. Then it was competition time. We got our flash drive and immediately started to find an idea. We got one pretty fast you could say, but we needed a lot of people. So, we had to wait for everybody to come out of the breakout sessions, but then they got Starbucks. So, we were behind a little bit, but right when they got back, we started to film. After we filmed, we went to the editing room and edited, of course. We got to turn it in!!! I pretty much didn't eat since 8:15 this morning, and it was already 5pm when we finished. So, I was one hungry person, and my group was seated last! We went to Cheesecake Factory. I was so hungry at that point and everything on the menu looked so good. Probably ordered a little too much, but..... Anyways, once we got back to the hotel we took a shower and went right to sleep. That's it for today's blog! Stay tuned for tomorrow's!
