Hey everybody! So, for this week's free blog, I'm going to be talking about this new movie coming out called Sing. It's an animated movie, and it's hilarious. I mean the story is that there's a singing competition happening, I guess. And then there's all these animals trying out. It's just hilarious and I can't wait till it comes out. Also, it's from the creators of Despicable Me. I personally think that those creators make hilarious and the best movies. Well, check it out for yourself!
Hey everyone! So, this week's blog topic is about our musical inspirations. To be honest, I'm not somebody who listens to music a lot. Or talks about all the new artists and songs coming out, but I do like some songs, artists, and genres of music. For example, pop, Hawaiian/reggae, and some songs from movies and TV shows.
So, pop is really cool and inspirational to me. It's because pop is like up beat new trending songs I guess. I really don't know my music, but just because it's trending or it's popular doesn't mean it's not meaningful. For example, think about Justin Bieber. The songs he just came out with are very inspirational like, "Love Yourself".
So, for this next genre, you might be saying, what in the world do you mean Kirra. If you're from Kauai, I'm talking about the songs that are on the radio station 98.9. These songs are somewhat comforting and make me think of the beautiful place I live in when in the car. Another reason why I like it so much is because my Dad listens to it a lot and blasts it in the car. These songs are from people like J boog or local artists.
The last genre or type of music that is inspirational to me is songs like from Disney channel or other TV shows. The theme songs or featured songs in episode is what I'm talking about. For example, Girl Meets's World's theme song, "Take on the World", is very inspirational. Or the Hannah Montana theme song, I was obsessed why her show when I was younger. To bad Miley made that horrible comeback.
In conclusion, these are my favorite inspirational genres of music. Music is not something I am an expert at, but I hope this blog made sense to you. BYE!!!!
Hey everyone! So, I'm going to be talking about Laura Morano's new song called Boombox. I love this song, it's really cool. The music video is awesome too because it has a little funny and cool story in it. I mean, it's not all a story. There's parts where she's just lip singing, but at least there's some kind of difference from other music videos. There's even some music videos where the singer isn't even in the music video. What has happened?? Anyways, check out the video and see if you like the story in it. I think the way they made this video was different in a good way.
Hi! So, this week's blog topic is about what mistakes we had and how did we learn from it. Now, I pretty sure everyone has made at least a tiny mistake in their lives. So, here's my top 3.
My first mistake is when I was washing my fish tank. I left the cup with my fish in it too close to where I was washing the tank and my arm knocked it down. I freaked out and started to scream, but I managed to get him back into the cup and he's still alive now. Lesson learned though. Now I never keep the cup close to me.
My second mistake was when I left my phone on the plane. I left my phone in this case right by me and started to sleep. That was not he best idea. I think it fell when we were landing. I woke up right when we landed and didn't think about it. I noticed later that it was missing and I cried a lot, but I got it back a little later. The lesson here is when you're done with things on the plane, put it back in your bag.
My third mistake was when I left the freezer slightly opened. I went to get ice at night and I guess I didn't close it good. When my dad opened it in the morning the ice was a little melted and some things were soft. I had to clean it all, and it was not fun. The lesson here is always check if your freezer is closed really good.
In conclusion, everybody mistakes, but we can always learn from them. So, that's what I did with these 3 big mistakes. Thanks for reading. :)
Hello! So, this week's blog topic is about 3 times we've stepped out of our comfort zone. It's easy to stay in your comfort zone and not as easy to go out of it, but here's 3 times I stepped out of my comfort zone anyways.
The first time I stepped out of my comfort zone, was when I went on the Zipper. Now, if you don't know what this is, it's basically a ride. Where you sit in a cage type thing and the cage spins, turns, and puts you upside down sometimes. For, the longest time I told myself I'm never going on that thing, but eventually two of my soccer teammates persuaded me and we went on it together. (Mia & Janae) I was so scared, but I survived and actually had fun. I proved to myself I could do it again and that's just what I did, but a year later when it came back.
The second time I stepped out of my comfort zone was when I went to Disneyland and went on a full on big roller coaster for the first time. Kaua'i doesn't have many big roller coasters or really none at all. My dad really wanted to go on the one there, but nobody wanted to go on it with him. So, I decided to go on it with him because I said to myself, it's not like you're going to get to go on it again. I started freaking out in line, but I still went on it and has a blast. I proved to myself I could ride big roller coasters because after I went that first time, my dad and I ended up riding it 3 or 4 times in a row.
The third time I stepped out of my comfort zone was when I took singing lessons on Guam, when I was staying there. My whole mom's side of the family lives there, so we go up there normally 2 times a year, but at the most 3. Anyways, while we were there my grandma signed me up for these singing lessons, I was kind of interested and not at the same time, but I still went anyways. I was really scared at first, but the girl who was teaching me was very nice and I got through the first lesson. After I didn't think it was the thing for me, so I didn't go after. I proved to myself I had at least some confidence because I was forced to sing in front of a stranger and I'm not very good at it.
In conclusion, 3 times I've stepped out of my comfort zone was when I went on the Zipper, my first big roller coaster, and when I took singing lessons for one time. I hope you enjoyed. Bye!
Hello! So, this week's free blog will be about The Secret Life of Pets trailer #2. Now, I'm a little confused when it's coming out, but when I was looking through the trailers and stopped by this one. I love this movie, it's so funny and it has great animation. The big question I have for movie makers is how long does it take to edit these movies. I mean movies seem very hard to make. Ever since I've begun media, I've had a different perspective on videos, movies, music videos, and more. I mean, that I can point out little mistakes, I can see where something went a little wrong. Well, I guess I explained a little well. Anyways, hope you enjoy this funny movie trailer.
Hey guys! So, I'm here with a blog because I wasn't feeling like doing a vlog. Anyways, this week's topic was about our 3 top moments on out STN trip. The trip was very fun. I had so many new experiences and much more. There are so many good moments, but here are my 3.
So, my first top moment is probably when we went ice skating. I actually went twice, but others only went once because they weren't feeling well. The first time we went I was falling like crazy. I had a jacket on my butt, just in case and let me tell you, it helped. Then the second time we went, we had more of the group and I think we stayed there longer, well it felt longer anyways. It also, started to snow! We were all excited and going inside to get hot cocoa. It was just an overall amazing experience touching it and hanging in it, but it was COLD. Very cold.
My second top moment is the closing ceremony. It was just so fun screaming, yelling, and cheering with all my classmates. It was also fun to know what we won. We did very well STN. I also loved how Hawaii was dominating at STN. When there was a category that a lot of Hawaii schools won, the Hawaii schools would chant Ha-wa-ii. It was really cool.
My third top moment is when we went to Times Square and my dad took me to go to Carlo's Bakery. If you don't know what that is, it's the bakery from the TV show Cake Boss. I love baking and I've been dreaming of going there. It took a little to get there, but it was worth it. I got the oreo and red velvet cupcakes. They were the best I've ever had. I was so happy to be eating it and basically just be there overall.
In conclusion, STN was awesome. I had new learning experiences and new fun experiences basically. I can't wait for next year. These are only 3 good moments I had, there was many others.
Hello! So, today I will be talking about this music video done by Jackson Liberty High School. I personally really liked this music video. Their idea was great and their shots were great too. There's lots of shots of the singer that are moving. I feel like they used the Osmo to film it or something because the shots were very smooth and nice. They won 1st place for this which I think was well earned. Check it out!
My name is Kirra and I am a 7th grader in the CKMS Media Productions class.
