Hey guys! So for my free topic blog I am going to do it on my first time at a Hiki No festival. It was fun and cool to see all of the other student's videos that are made from other students around the state. There were some very interesting videos that I wanted to know more about, but also some that didn't interest me to be honest. Anyway here is a episode that I watched on YouTube. By the way there are more episodes on YouTube if you liked this one and wanted to watch more.
Hi guys! I am back with another blog. This week's topic is about our where are we in our 1st quarter project. Right now, Alaysia thinks we are on track, but I think we are a little ahead. Three reasons why I think we are a little ahead are because we finished a TIAS/5 Ws, we finished filming all of our three interviews, and also because we are almost done with our scripts.
The first reason why I think we are a little ahead is because we finished our TIAS/5 Ws. I did the 5 Ws and Alaysia did the other part of it. Doing our TIAS/5 Ws was probably the easiest thing we had to do in the process of our project.
The last reason why I think we are a little ahead is because we finished filming all of our interviews. If you didn't know, Alaysia and I are doing our project on this painter named Moses Hamilton that paints with his mouth because he is paralyzed from the neck down. For the interviews we interviewed Moses, his mom Cherry, and his dad Hawk. I filmed his dad's interview and Alaysia filmed Moses' and Cherry's interview.
The next reason why I think we are a little ahead is because we are almost done with our scripts. Alaysia and I transcribed all of our interviews and highlighted it to match the 5 points. So we started on our script we already by putting the audio in and right now we are putting in all the details to the script.
Overall, I am pretty sure that we are a little bit ahead in our 1st quarter project. I hope Alaysia and I stay a little bit ahead.
Hi guys! This is going to be my last blog for the week and I am doing it on my first interview with my partner Alaysia. So Alaysia and I filmed our interview on an artist that paints with his mouth named Moses Hamilton. When it came to the time that we had to take shots of him painting, we took turns and I thought it was really fun setting the camera into different angles of him painting. Also, when it came to interviews Alaysia and I interviewed Moses and his parents. Alaysia filmed Moses' and his mom's interview and I fimed Moses' dad's interview, it was really fun because his dad kept telling funny jokes about himself. Overall, I had a great time and can't wait til the next project.
Hey guys! I am back with my second week of blogs. This week's topic is what has been challening so far in media. There were a few things challenging like writing interview questions, trying to figure out what I'm going to write for blogs, and learning how to work the cameras.
So one thing that was challenging was writing interview questions. Alaysia and I were writing our interview questions on this guy named Moses Hamilton. Moses paints with his mouth because he got into a really bad car accident and is now paralyzed from the neck down. Writing the interview questions was challenging because we needed to ask some questions that were kinda sad to talk about, but Alaysia and I figured it out and wrote the questions and made them as great as we could.
Another thing that was challenging was trying to figure out what I was going to write for blogs. This was challenging because I had to write a 5 paragraph blog about a topic and that is not always easy.
Also, we had to write a second blog about something related to media. That was not as challenging as writing a 5 paragraph blog, but I still had to figure out a topic to write about. Anyways, I am now getting the hang of it and will learn how to write them through out the year.
The last thing that was challenging was learning how to work the cameras. Learning how to work the cameras was not easy because there are lots of buttons and settings on a camera that you have to know to work one. I am still learning to memorize everything on a camera, but for now at least I know the basics of using a camera to be able to work it.
Overall, all of these challenges are things I can overcome throughout the year with the help of my returning classmates in media.
Hi guys! So this is going to be my second blog post where I can pick the topic. I am going to talk about learning how to film a video from Alaysia my partner.
So I learned how to film a video on Friday after school from my partner Alaysia. First, she taught me how to use the tripod and how to put a camera on it. I thought it was pretty easy. Next, she taught me how to use the camera from zoom, to foucusing the camera, and lighting. Last, she taught me about the audio. She taught me how to screw the sound boxes on the camera. She also told me that when you do an interview you have to ask the person to put the tiny microphone under their shirt then clip it on their collar so it doesn't look weird when the cord is showing.
For this upcoming interview, Alaysia and I will meet with Moses Hamilton. Alaysia will be working the camera. I will be asking Moses the questions because it is my first interview.
Hi guys! This is going to be my first blog post of the year! This week's topic is about how our first week of media class went. I didn't really have the same first week of media like everyone else because I was sick with the flu, so instead I will be talking about my very first day of middle school, my first day with all of the grades until I went home sick, and my first week of school which was everybody's second week.
So on my very first day of school my dad joined me for the whole day. I was feeling scared but, excited at the same time. Going to 9 classes in one day was kinda scary so thank goodness it was only 5. Also, when we went to lunch it was kinda crazy because all the 6th graders were in there with their parents, but the good thing is that the lunch line moves really fast so we didn't have to wait too long in the lunch line.
On my first day with all the grdes it was just me so I was scared. when I went to the libary for advisory the 8th graders were running the show a few times while they were and while they were doing that, other CKTV 7th graders were showing me all the jobs and how to do them. After that I met my partner Alaysia, she is a 8th garder and this is her 3rd year in media and she is also a very wonderful partner. So after advisory i had band and that is when I wasn't feeling very well, but I still went on to my next class which was english where I was feeling worse. I wanted to try to got he whole day so I went on to Ipad class but, half way into the class I couldn't take the way I was feeling anymore so I went to the health room. I ended up having a fever so I went home.
My first week of media was actually everybody's second week of media and it was now time that some of the 6th graders and their parnters run the show. I was actually one of those 6th graders, I was the sound and my partner Alaysia was the director. I had a fun time running the show as the sound for the week. In media we had a project to do already. Alaysia and I are doing our project on this man who got in a really bad car accident and is paralized from the neck down, he survived and is now a painter that paints with his mouth. This is what me and alaysia were working on in media this past week.
So this is basically how my first few days of school and media went. It was really fun and exciting and I am having a great time with Alaysia and all the other CKTV students.
My name is Kirra and I am a 7th grader in the CKMS Media Productions class.
